Science Parks in Action

Attractive environments for innovation

Science parks support the creation, growth and internationalisation of technology-intensive business and growth companies. TEKEL centres offer their customers:

  • innovation and operating environments that stimulate growth
  • business development services
  • office facilities that can be adapted to meet the need of the customer
  • programme and project co-operation, and
  • key contacts and networking services

Contacts & networks

Network co-operation and contacts play a key role in science park activities. Science parks work actively in various networks of specialists and fields of business. They are closely involved in such activities as the implementation of the national Centre of Expertise Programme (OSKE).

The success of science parks is based on the success of their customers. Also of fundamental importance is that the networks and contacts are made available to the customer companies and are of concrete benefit to the development of their business.

Operations from a national viewpoint

The key factors of Finnish science park activity are research-based technology, specialisation in top-level expertise, and co-operation between the private and public sectors and networking. Viewed from a broader perspective, activity promotes

  • entrepreneurship
  • employment
  • regional development, and
  • international competitiveness.
